Gijs van Liebergen, skipper of King's Legend, is a sailor of heart
and soul. At six years old, he was often to be found on his father's
sailboat and at the age of fourteen, he made his first sail crossing
to England with his father.
In England he succeeded in getting his Yacht Masters exam. He also attended the school of
navigation in Enkhuizen. His dream to buy and navigate a sailing yacht
became reality in 1999, when, on the first of May he bought the
King's Legend. The year that followed was used to bring the boat back
into top condition.
The organisation is in the capable hands of Femke Lobach. Femke, who
also has an MBA title, has an intuitive organisational talent. She
also runs her own strategic communications advice agency. She was
responsible for a number of international accounts for a direct
marketing agency. King's Legend gives her the opportunity to combine
her organisational talent with her passion for sailing.
