Gijs van Liebergen
Gijs van Liebergen, owner of King's Legend, is a sailor of heart and soul. At six years old, he was often to be found on his father's sailboat and at the age of fourteen, he made his first sail crossing from Holland to England with his father. His dream to buy and navigate a sailing yacht became reality in 1999, when, on the first of May he bought King's Legend. The year that followed was used to bring the boat back into top condition and together with Femke Lobach he made a successful company out of King's Legend.Gijs holds his Yachtmaster Certificate and also attended the school of navigation in Enkhuizen. He has extensive race and charter experience in the 11 years he has owned and skippered the yacht, and has amassed a wealth of sailing knowledge that he earnestly shares with his guests and fellow crew.
Charter Operations
Alexandra Jones
Alex hails from Australia and has been working professionally on yachts since 2005. She has extensive knowledge of professional yacht presentation and service, having previously worked on superyachts in the Mediterranean, as well as being the mate and accounts manager for a small fleet of both power and sailing yachts based in the Caribbean and U.S.Alex is Yachtmaster qualified and holds her Global Maritime Distress & Safety System certificate. She also holds a bachelor of business and has previously worked in managerial roles in finance, perfectly equipping her for running the charter operations for King’s Legend. Alex’s specialty is making sure her guests are exceptionally well looked-after and enjoying themselves, and she also loves to cook delicious healthy food, especially Thai and Mediterranean style dishes.
Femke Lobach
From 1999 until 2009, Femke Lobach, MBA, successfully built up the King's Legend charter business. She has an intuitive organisational talent and also runs her own strategic communications advice agency. She was responsible for a number of international accounts at a direct marketing agency. King's Legend gave her the opportunity to combine her business talent with her passion for sailing.
