The Rolls Royce of sailing yachts
King's Legend is a Swan 65, which is considered by experts to be the Rolls Royce of sailing yachts. In 1977, during the legendary and incredibly challenging Whitbread Around The World race, which covers more than more than 27,000 sea miles, taking competitors via Cape Horn to the other side of the world. The crew sailed her into 2nd place behind the race winner the Dutch Flyer.
In 1999, Gijs van Liebergen, the present skipper, sailed the yacht back to Holland and converted the racer into a sailing yacht fitted with modern convenience, but without ruining the original design. That is exactly what makes King's Legend so unique: her history, her speed and slender design, and the beautiful teakwood interior.
King's Legend is suitable for Gentlemen's Racing, relaxed sailing holidays but also for daytrips as a business event.

Winterreces and presummer program:
November 2007:
The days become shorter, the weather is changing and we lifted King's Legend out of the water for the winter. She is on the docks, in a wharf in IJmuiden. And she will stay there until the beginning of May. No major refit will be done, just small jobs and a way to dry her inside out.
May 2008:
If weather allows, we will bring her out again,
in the water, the beginning of May 2008.
And start our new sailing season in Europe.
With the main sailingarea being:
The Netherlands IJsselmeer and North Sea for daytrips
and England, Cowes for some nice regattas.
Both the daytrips and the regattas can be booked
by groups of friends or by companies for business events.
